Carlos Mencia

Carlos Mencia talks about how now society has made up the disease ADD and ADHD. I agree with him, I dont believe in those diseases, I believe its a conspiracy for pharmacists and doctors to make more money off ignorant people that dont know any better. The reason why a child cannot concentrate on what they are doing is because discipline and how they were raised. If as a child, everything was done for you and you werent taught manners, then most likely, in class, you will not pay attention and not want to do your homework. You will not have a mindset of getting your work done. Mencia is successful because what he mentions one can relate to, one can remember of an incident that is similar to what he says, so he is reliable in what he says and one may agree. No, I am not offended, I havent been "diagnosed" with ADD or ADHD. I agree that people may have learning disabilities, but instead of lowering their standards like Mencia says, we should help them and not treat them like if they were inferior to those who don't have learning disabilities.

Dark Days

'Dark Days' demonstrates the difficulty to live for those who are homeless. However, I'm a strong believer of if you want something, get up and get it yourself, and if you want something done right, you must do it yourself. We are all individuals and need to learn how to be independent and not depend on everyone to survive. Life is hard, but if you expect for everything to be done for you, how will it get easier through the years. 'Dark Days' presents interviews with the homeless and many of them admit to have been addicted to crack, now is it the governments fault for these beings to have gotten addicted. Addiction breaks out because of the individual, it is not forced but acquired. Everyone has the capability to say "no", however, these homeless individuals made their own decision, not the correct one. I must disagree with the claim that for one to succeed, they must have motivation, someone to push them. Everyone must learn to have a strong will, that if you want to succeed in the long run, you must make the steps, not be carried by "mommy" or "daddy". It's a matter of self-confidence and growing up. Be a go-getter.

My very own blog.

I finally post a blog. How do I feel to have a blog? It's similar to myspace, but so much more complicating to make it creative. If it wasn't for Natasha, I wouldn't have one, that's for sure. I don't care much for facebook either. Sorry to those who do. It's a bit awkward to be writing an entry and many can see what I write. I must admit that I've had livejournal, which is extremely similar to blogger. It's your own personal website to express whatever thought you have, well in this case, whatever journal Natasha assigns us. However, livejournal is kept private, and I'm still learning the ropes to blogger so I'll make this private once I learn how to. I agree to having a blog for ENC 1102, only because it's a connection to others in class.
